National Webinar – World Mangrove Day
National Webinar - World Mangrove Day
As we celebrate International Day for the Conservation of the Mangrove Ecosystem, on today 26th July 2022, Yagasu (Yayasan Gajah Sumatra), supported by Reforest’Action held a #nationalwebinar themed: “Kontribusi Ekosistem Mangrove dalam Pengendalian Perubahan Iklim dan Pembangunan Berkelanjutan” (The Contribution of Mangrove Ecosystem towards Climate Change Mitigation and Sustainable Development).
We would like to express our gratitude to the speakers of this webinar: Prof. Ir. Zulkifli Nasution, MSc, Ph.D, Dr. Meilinda Suriani Harefa, S. Pd., M. Si., and Prof. Ir. Rahmawaty, S. Hut., MSi., Ph.D., IPU. Thank you for the great presentation and precious insight.
We would also love to thank the committee and Yagasu team who have successfully held this event. Each of your contributions has made our work into total success with 200 participants in total who come from various backgrounds including government, NGOs and #youthcommunities, private sectors, universities, and schools.
A huge thanks also to our participants who have made this event memorable with their enthusiasm and participation in the Q&A session. We are also excited to see the Indonesian youths who are highly concerned about the impacts of #climatechange, with some having started climate-conscious movements of their own.
We hope this event could help in raising awareness of the importance of #mangroveecosystems and providing new perspectives on their #sustainablemanagement, conservation, and uses.
