MOA SIGNING WITH UNIVERSITAS SAMUDRA: YAGASU CONTINUES STRENGTHENING ITS NETWORK TO SUPPORT MERDEKA BELAJAR AND KAMPUS MERDEKA
Yagasu–The Memorandum of Agreement (MoA) between Yayasan Gajah Sumatra (Yagasu) and Universitas Samudra was Located at Yagasu Office, on Tuesday, 30 November 2021.
The collaboration between Yagasu and Faculty of Teacher Training and Education of Universitas Samudra is one of Yagasu’s efforts to build cooperation network and support for Merdeka Belajar and Kampus Merdeka program (MBKM) by the Ministry of Education and Culture.
Yagasu and Faculty of Teacher Training and Education of Universitas Samudra signed a Memorandum of Agreement (MoA). The MoA was signed by the Dean of Faculty of Teacher Training and Education of Samudra University, Mr. Muhammad Yakob M.Pd., QIA and the Program Director of Yagasu, Mrs. Meilinda Suriani Harefa.

This collaboration aims to synergize the potential of each party in order to obtain maximum results in educational and teaching activities.
The agreement between Samudra University and Yagasu includes the admission of Universitas Samudra students for intership, research, humanitarian projects, entrepreneurship programs, and other independent projects.
It was agreed that Universitas Samudra will assign a supervisor to provide project guidance for students. Yagasu will also assign a mentor to give the student trainings and help them should they face difficulties during the program.
Yagasu (Yayasan Gajah Sumatra) is a Non-Governmental Organization with over 21 years of practical experiences on biodiversity conservation, ecosystem restoration and protection, climate change mitigation and adaptation, capacity building, environmental education and local economic reconstruction through the facilitation of generating income for local communities on green livelihoods. Established on July 17, 2001, the organization initial concernwas Sumatra’s elephant conservation. In 2006, Yagasu changed its management structure and officially registered with Yagasu Aceh as its legal name. In recent years, yagasu has been focused on restoring mangrove restoration, environment and climate change, and local community empowerment in Aceh, North Sumatra, East Java, and Wet Java Province.
