MOA AND IA SIGNING WITH UNIVERSITY OF NORTH SUMATRA
Yagasu – The Memorandum of Agreement (MoA) between Yayasan Gajah Sumatra (Yagasu) and University of North Sumatra (USU) was Located at University of North Sumatra, on Monday, 3 October 2022.
The collaboration between Yayasan Gajah Sumatera (Yagasu) and Faculty of Natural Resources and Environmental Management (PSL) of University of North Sumatra is one of the efforts of the University of North Sumatra and Yayasan Gajah Sumatera to build cooperation network and support for Merdeka Belajar and Kampus Merdeka program (MBKM) by the Ministry of Education and Culture.
The Faculty of Natural Resources and Environmental Management, University of North Sumatra signed a Memorandum of Agreement (MoA) and Implementation Agreement (IA). The signing of the MoA was carried out by the Postgraduate Director of the University of North Sumatra, Prof. Ir. T. Sabrina, M.Agr Sc., Ph.D. and the signing of the IA was carried out by the Head of the Natural Resources and Environmental Management Study Program at the University of North Sumatra, Prof. Ir. Rahmawaty, S.Hut., M.Sc., Ph.D.IPU Together with the Program Director of Yayasan Gajah Sumatera, Mrs. Dr. Meilinda Suriani Harefa, M.Sc.
This collaboration aims to utilize the capabilities of the resources owned by both parties to the maximum and as well as possible so that they are more successful in fostering and developing both parties, especially in improving the Tridarma of Higher Education and implementing the Kampus Merdeka program.
The agreement between the University of North Sumatra and Yayasan Gajah Sumatera includes organizing national/international seminars and workshops, organizing training and developing job skills/internships for students, and joint research and study to develop curriculum, learning, and improve the quality of graduates.

About Yagasu
Yagasu (Yayasan Gajah Sumatra) is a Non-Governmental Organization with over 21 years of practical experiences on biodiversity conservation, ecosystem restoration and protection, climate change mitigation and adaptation, capacity building, environmental education and local economic reconstruction through the facilitation of generating income for local communities on green livelihoods. Established on July 17, 2001, the organization initial concernwas Sumatra’s elephant conservation. In 2006, Yagasu changed its management structure and officially registered with Yagasu Aceh as its legal name. In recent years, yagasu has been focused on restoring mangrove restoration, environment and climate change, and local community empowerment in Aceh, North Sumatra, East Java, and Wet Java Province.
