YAGASU AND PLN PEDULI INAUGURATED RUMAH BACA (READING HOUSE) MERAH PUTIH IN DANAU SIOMBAK , NORTH SUMATRA
Medan – Yagasu team and PLN Peduli launched Merah Putih Reading House in Danau Siombak, Medan Marelan Sub-distrtict, Medan on Friday, 24 June 2022.
The Yagasu Team with PLN Peduli inaugurated the Rumah Baca (reading house) Merah Putih in Siombak Lake, Paya Pasir Village, Medan Marelan District, Medan City. The inauguration of the reading house was attended by the Program Director of Yagasu, Melinda Suriani Harefa, Manager of the Paya Pasir Gas Power Center (ULPLTG) Service Unit, Hendri Prianto, as well as Territorial Defense management Officer, People’s Security and Order Supervising Officer, school children, and local communities who were participants in the mangrove batik training.

Previously, the Yagasu team with PLN (State Electricity Company) Belawan Generation Control Implementation Unit (UPDK), through the Environmental Social Responsibility (TJSL) program first renovated a reading house that had existed since 2019.
Furthermore, the Yagasu team, supported by PLN Peduli, also provided training on making eco-print Batik masks for children in the area around Siombak Lake.

Meilinda, the Program Director of Yagasu, expressed her gratitude to PLN UPDK (Generation Control Implementing Unit) Belawan for rehabilitating the reading house and building a public bathroom in it.
“This help is very useful for Rumah Baca Merah Putih which is chaired by the North Sumatran mangrove activist, Wibi Nugraha.” She said.
She also asked for the commitment of the reading house community group members because without their commitment to helping, the TJSL provided by PLN UPDK Belawan would not be implemented properly.
Harmanto, Manager of PLN UPDK Belawan Harmanto through the Manager of the Paya Pasir ULPLTG (Gas Power Electricity Center Service Unit), Hendri Prianto, hopes that the rehabilitation of this reading house can provide comfort for children who study in Rumah Baca Merah Putih
YAGASU will provide regular sewing training at Rumah Baca Merah Putih for local women who live around Siombak Lake. The training will not be limited to face mask production but also on wallets and negligees production.
