Mangrove Education for Medan State University Students
Yagasu team and the exchange students from all over Indonesia carried out a Mangrove planting activity, this planting was carried out in the estuary area of Kampung Nelayan Indah, Belawan.
The students who join this student exchange are students who take part in the Pertukaran Mahasiswa Merdeka (PMM) program organized by the Ministry of Education and Culture who conduct student exchanges with students from Universitas Negeri Medan (UNIMED).
In this activity, Yagasu as a Facilitator, facilitated the students in planting Mangroves, Besides being facilitated in planting, they were also given an understanding of the importance of conserving the Mangrove Ecosystem for life.
This material understanding of the Mangrove ecosystem was delivered by the Yagasu Program Director, Mrs. Dr. Meilinda Suriani Harefa, M.Si.

About Yagasu
Yagasu (Yayasan Gajah Sumatra) is a Non-Governmental Organization with over 21 years of practical experiences on biodiversity conservation, ecosystem restoration and protection, climate change mitigation and adaptation, capacity building, environmental education and local economic reconstruction through the facilitation of generating income for local communities on green livelihoods.
